Managing revenue deferrals in Dynamics GP can be complex, and many businesses suffer from Excel overload. In jurisdictions where prices include sales tax, such as Australia and New Zealand, managing deferrals is even more complex – the tax amount must be removed from the deferred amount. When some line items are deferred while others are not, or when some items are taxable while others are exempt, Dynamics GP deferrals simply falls flat – these items cannot be placed on the same invoice.
Binary Stream’s Advanced Revenue and Expense Deferrals now has a “Tax Exclusive” deferral option. This allows companies in “tax inclusive” jurisdictions to create revenue deferrals by line item on the fly – with no user intervention once the initial setup is done – with the assurance that the proper amount, the sales price less the taxes, is being deferred for each eligible line item.
